At Southern Classic Fence Fence Builders, we take pride in building high-quality fences that are both functional and beautiful. Our team of skilled fence builders has years of experience in the industry and can help you select the fence that best suits your needs and budget. We use only the best materials and techniques to ensure that your fence is built to last. We offer the best prices, not the cheapest rates. Let me break that down for you.
Quality: The cheapest fence cost the least amount of money; we find the most affordable fence without sacrificing the quality of the material.
Skill: The cheapest fence does not require experience or expertise. We have the experience and are always the first ones signed up for continued ed classes.
Overhead: While it is important to save money where you can, you do want someone qualified to do the work for you. Qualifications cost money... Licensing, insurance, location for materials, trucks, trailers, maintenance etc.
Backbill: Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, do you want the cheapest price? With that comes the add ons, the contractor did not charge you for concrete or wall mounts or core drilling, etc... With Southern Classic Fence, your price does not change. What I quote is what you pay.
SCF rep will work with you on layout and fence style. We come to you, measure your yard, let you pick a style of fence from which an estimate will be provided. Estimates typically take 1-3 business days as we do not quote per foot but per job. Each lot is different, no job is the same. Many factors are considered when quoting jobs, material breakdown, the ground, location etc.
SCF will enter into an agreement with you upon approved estimate, collecting signed agreements and deposit. The agreement outlines the scope of work that we will be doing for you and the agreed upon price. The deposit covers the cost of the materials. X amount dollars in exchange for services rendered, typically 65% (the cost of materials)
SCF will purchase materials needed to complete the job. We are very picky when it comes to our vendors and proudly support those that manufacture American made. Since Megan’s first 7 years in the industry was in manufacturing, she uses her knowledge to select the highest quality materials at the most affordable rate
Permits and other approvals: Many locations require an HOA approval and/ or a building permit. SCF will handle any of these submissions for you.
When your materials are scheduled to be delivered, we then call you to get you put on our installation schedule. Weather and other unforeseen circumstances may affect scheduling
When the weather does not cooperate, our ability to work is restricted. Although we do have procedures to eliminate this, sometimes the weather may affect a job scheduled prior to yours that has a ripple delay. Because of this, we do not book more than 1-2 weeks in advance.
SCF will call in a work order to 811 to mark the location of existing underground utilities. You may notice small flags and / or paint on your yard, which help us avoid power, water, fiber optics or gas lines.
Here is some information to consider if you are buying a fence, even if you don't use us!!
Many fly-by-night services will not have a legitimate address. This makes it easy for a "company" to take a deposit and never show back up again. Hey, where are you going to find them? We do have a shop in Longs, SC where we can show our products by appointment.
Did you know that if a company is not insured and someone got hurt on your property, that person can sue your homeowners insurance? We are an insured company with General Liability and Workers Comp coverage! Please make sure that the contractor you choose is fully insured. **To verify this information, ask for a copy of the COI and contact the company's agent.
A business license helps hold the contractor accountable and insure that the business is safe for the public. SCF can provide you with a copy of ours!
Many locations require an HOA approval and/ or a building permit. The homeowner is responsible for obtaining these. Make sure that the company has your approvals on file so that the fence is installed within the approved parameters. SFC will assist upon request. A copy of all permits and other approval letters must be submitted to SLF prior to installation.
This varies from time to time, product to product, depending on the lead time from the manufacturer. Check with your salesman on the current lead time for your project. We order the materials for your project the day after we receive your deposit.
All of our materials are warranted as per manufacturer (typically 15yrs to life) and we can provide the warranty information for that product. Make sure that you get warranty information from any contractor you go with.
